Paris Saint-Germain made a splash last summer by signing a young French talent. And even before the current season ends, they are already reaping the rewards of their financial investment.
In the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals against Aston Villa, the 18-year-old forward leveled the score during the first half.
This goal marked Désiré Doué's fifth in his last four matches. The forward previously found the net against Saint-Étienne (a brace), Dunkirk, Angers, and now Aston Villa.
It's noteworthy that in the summer of 2024, PSG paid Rennes 50 million euros for Doué's transfer. Since joining Paris Saint-Germain, the young talent has scored 12 goals and provided 13 assists across all competitions. He achieved these numbers in 42 matches.
Additionally, today's the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal between PSG and Aston Villa. In a week's time, the rivals will meet again in Birmingham. The winner of this tie will face either Bayern or Inter Milan in the semifinals.
