Czechia defender Jeroslav Zeleny says better preparation will win them the game against South Africa

Jeroslav Zeleny has outlined Czechia's expectations against South Africa on Thursday in their World Cup Group A match.

Zeleny said his side has an idea of what type of football the South Africans play and that they have planned accordingly ahead of the game at the Mercedes Benz Stadium.

“The opponent will be typologically different. Korea had a lot of speed, South Africa has more power players,” he told the Czech national team website.

“I think the game will be a little more physical. I saw their first crazy match. Not that they would completely rush into the press and it would be a real duel."

Zeleny said Bafana are not in a better position compared to them heading into the game despite the fact that both teams lost their opening games.

Czechia lost to South Korea 2-1 while Bafana lost to Mexico 2-0.

“It was the opening match, so maybe one team was waiting to see what the other would do. They are in a similar situation to us, and they didn’t score a goal, so they are a little worse off,” he added.

The Czechia defender pointed out that a good preparation on their side will see them win the tie.

“We need to prepare better than them and win the match,” he concluded.

The match starts at 6pm South African time on Thursday.
