It seems La Liga is in no mood to make concessions to the Royal club.
Details: Today, La Liga released an official decision regarding Real Madrid's request to reschedule the opening round of the national championship, in which Los Blancos are set to face Osasuna.
Real justified their appeal by citing a lack of recovery time after participating in the Club World Cup, where they are scheduled to play PSG in the semifinals. However, La Liga stated it sees no grounds for postponing the match.
It is also reported that the possibility of rescheduling may rest solely with the match official. In this case, as La Liga representatives told Cadena SER, the League itself would set a new date—without considering the wishes of the Madrid club.
“No commitments have been made to alter the schedule due to the Club World Cup,” La Liga representatives stated.
The Madrid club is deeply frustrated by this decision, arguing that at the Club World Cup, they're representing not just their city but all of Spanish football—and believe this deserves understanding and respect.
