Legendary Claudio Ranieri may be on the brink of a return to Roma as head coach until the end of the season, according to recent reports in the Italian press. Following this, the 73-year-old Italian could transition into a technical director role if Ivan Jurić is dismissed.

However, Ranieri avoided confirming any potential return to Rome, instead focusing on recounting his career highlights.

Sidestepping the question about Roma, he admitted he’s open to leading a national team:

“I confess that I’m ready to take on a new challenge, although I have already declined several offers. We’ll see if the national team calls, though not Italy—I have a lot of confidence in Spalletti,” Ranieri told Corriere della Sera in a recent interview.

Ranieri has managed Roma twice before, from 2009 to 2011 and again briefly in 2019. This summer, he announced his retirement from coaching.

It’s worth noting that today’s Serie A match against Torino in Rome, scheduled for October 31, may prove decisive for Jurić. If Roma fails to secure a win, the current coach will likely be dismissed.
