In the first half of the 31st round match of the English Premier League against Manchester United, Chelsea took a 2-0 lead as early as the 19th minute, but conceded two goals before halftime.

This marks the sixth occasion in the current season across all tournaments where Chelsea has led by a two-goal margin, but ultimately allowed the opponent to equalize.

Chelsea is also the last top-tier team in history to frequently surrender a two-goal advantage, with a similar pattern observed back in 1989.

Heading into the match against Manchester United, Chelsea occupied the 12th position in the league standings.
