Chelsea ahead of Newcastle United as they prepare for first transfer under new manager

Tosin Adarabioyo had an excellent season at Fulham, playing 25 matches across all competitions and scoring two goals.

Such a performance has attracted the attention of several clubs. According to Fabrizio Romano, both Newcastle United and Chelsea are interested in him. The Magpies have been working on signing the defender for several weeks, but the London club is considered the frontrunner.

Adarabioyo's contract expires at the end of this month, allowing him to move on a free transfer, which increases interest in him.

The defender is a product of Manchester City's youth academy, where he trained under the then-under-21 coach Enzo Maresca. Maresca is the leading candidate to replace Mauricio Pochettino as Chelsea's new head coach.

All these factors position Chelsea as the favorite in the race for Adarabioyo, and it is likely that this will be Maresca's first signing as the Blues' manager.

Let us remind you that today we reported that Manchester City faces punishment for violating financial fair play rules.
