The tragedy that shook Spanish football has brought its first forensic answers.

Details: According to Spanish outlet Diario de Avisos, a preliminary autopsy has established that 30-year-old Tenerife striker Jesús de Miguel died from accidental chest trauma. The footballer suffered a devastating collision with FC Andorra goalkeeper Jesús Owono during their Segunda División match on November 2 and passed away in hospital the following morning.

The preliminary report was submitted to the investigating judge on November 4. However, forensic examinations are not yet complete, with additional tests, including toxicological analyses, still pending to clarify the precise circumstances of his death.

Spanish police are investigating both the collision itself and the emergency medical response. Particular attention is being paid to the treatment provided on the pitch, the player's evacuation to the ambulance and his subsequent transfer to hospital. No medical negligence has been established.

De Miguel's funeral is scheduled to take place today, November 5, in Navahermosa, in Spain's Toledo province. Tenerife's players, coaching staff and club officials are expected to attend the ceremony to pay their final respects.

It is worth noting that Tenerife has also scheduled a public memorial ceremony at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López stadium for Saturday, November 7, at 18:00, allowing supporters to say goodbye to the late striker.
