Martin Ødegaard has achieved a rare milestone at the World Cup: the Norwegian delivered an assist in each of his first three matches at the tournament.
Details: Ødegaard is only the third player since 1966 to provide an assist in each of his first three World Cup games.
Before Ødegaard, only Igor Belanov for the USSR at the 1986 World Cup and Michael Ballack for Germany in 2002 had managed that feat.
For the Norway captain, this is yet another testament to his role as the team's main creator. Even without getting on the scoresheet, Ødegaard remains the player through whom Norway's attacking play is built.
