CAF Champions League: San Pedro lose to FC Nouadhibou and miss out on the group stage
Despite their 2–1 victory in the first leg, the Ivorian club were knocked out by FC Nouadhibou, who won 2–0 in the return leg on Sunday 25 October in Nouakchott.
FC San Pedro failed to get the better of FC Nouadhibou. Having won the first leg at the Laurent Pokou Stadium in San Pedro, the Ivorians travelled to Mauritania with a one-goal lead. But faced with a determined Mauritanian side, they were powerless to stop them.
In front of their home crowd, the Mauritanians of FC Nouadhibou found the resources needed to make the difference. Their 2-0 victory secures their place in the group stage of the 2026–2027 CAF Champions League, thanks to an aggregate score of 3–2.
For FC San Pedro, the disappointment is immense. The Ivorian club sees its continental campaign come to an end in the second preliminary round. FC Nouadhibou, meanwhile, continues its journey and joins the teams that have qualified for the group stage.
