CAF Champions League: FC San Pedro arrive in Mauritania to take on FC Nouadhibou
Hassen Bellil and his players left Côte d’Ivoire on Thursday 22 October before landing in Nouakchott later that day for the second leg of the second preliminary round.
The Pétruciens have now settled into their accommodation in the Mauritanian capital, where they will continue their preparations for this decisive clash. The coaching staff intend to make the most of the remaining days to fine-tune their strategy and ensure the team goes into the match in the best possible condition.
In the first leg, played on 17 October at the Laurent Pokou Stadium in San Pedro, the Ivorian club secured a 2–1 victory. Despite this home win, nothing is decided yet in this two-legged tie. FC San Pedro will need to show resilience and clinical finishing in Nouakchott against FC Nouadhibou, who will be looking to capitalise on home advantage to secure their place in the next round.
Following the return leg on 25 October, the winner will secure their place in the group stage of the 2026–2027 CAF Champions League. A major challenge therefore awaits both teams on Sunday in Nouakchott.
