CAF Champions League: FC San Pedro head to Nigeria for their second leg against Rivers United
The Ivorian club’s delegation left Ivory Coast on Thursday 10 September.
FC San Pedro are travelling to Nigeria for the second leg of the first qualifying round of the 2026–2027 CAF Champions League. With the clash scheduled for Sunday 13 September at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, the Pétruciens are arriving a few days early.
They will land in Lagos before continuing their journey to Uyo, where the match will be played. Once settled in, the Ivorians will make their final preparations ahead of 13 September and their decisive clash.
This second leg between FC San Pedro and Rivers United promises to be an epic encounter. The two sides played out a 1–1 draw in the first leg at the Laurent Pokou Stadium in Ivory Coast.
With qualification at stake, the match on 13 September is therefore crucial for both the Ivorians and the Nigerians. The winner of this clash will qualify for the second preliminary round of the 2026–2027 CAF Champions League.
Given that Rivers United will have the home advantage on Sunday, FC San Pedro will need to find the resources to cope with this challenge.
