The Championship side is set to receive a stunning, state-of-the-art stadium.
Details: Today, Birmingham City’s official account on social media platform X announced that the club is beginning construction on a brand-new, modern stadium.
The new ground is scheduled for completion by 2030 and will boast a capacity of 62,000 spectators.
Fans online have praised the stadium’s contextual design, featuring several large smoking chimneys—a nod to Birmingham’s industrial heritage and the city's iconic factories and manufacturing legacy dating back to the last century. The promotional video featured former Blues star Jude Bellingham and Paul Anderson, the actor who played Arthur in the Peaky Blinders series.
The club stated that the stadium’s design was developed in collaboration with Heatherwick Studio and MANICA Architecture, both internationally renowned firms.
Currently, Birmingham City play their home matches at St Andrew’s, a stadium that holds 30,000 fans.
So far this season, Birmingham sit 11th in the Championship table, with 21 points from 15 matches.
