Brilliant Nwaneri! Arsenal player ratings vs Brighton according to Dailysports
What was supposed to be a straightforward encounter turned out to be a frustrating evening for Arsenal. Brighton, missing several key players, including Danny Welbeck, put up a resilient fight. Thanks to Hürzeler tactical acumen, solid defending, and a pinch of luck, the Seagulls earned a deserved draw.
Arsenal, on the other hand, appeared fatigued and overly reliant on their perceived superiority—an attitude that rarely works in the Premier League.
Top performers:
Ethan Nwaneri
At last, Nwaneri finds the back of the net! This performance showcased his immense potential to challenge Bukayo Saka for a starting spot. From pinpoint crosses and dribbles to his sharp movements and goal, the young winger demonstrated a complete skill set. It’s unfortunate that he was substituted for Gabriel Martinelli right after halftime, as the Brazilian failed to leave a mark on the game—much like the rest of Arsenal’s attack.
Notably, England's new head coach, Thomas Tuchel, was present in the stands. Aside from Nwaneri, there wasn’t much for him to scout. Could Ethan's senior national team debut be on the horizon?
Declan Rice
Rice's inclusion among the best performers is well-deserved. He delivered 4 key passes—an impressive feat in any league. Additionally, he completed 3 accurate crosses out of 5 attempts and remained actively involved throughout the game.
Riccardo Calafiori
A valuable acquisition for Arsenal this season, Calafiori continues to impress with his versatility. Defensively, he registered 4 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 2 successful challenges. Offensively, he added 2 successful dribbles, accurate crosses, and well-placed long balls. While he didn't dominate any single area, his all-around contribution stood out.
