This week saw the first official talks between London’s Chelsea and Xabi Alonso, who could soon become the head coach of the Blues.
Details: According to insider Nicolò Schira, the meeting was very positive: the Spanish specialist confirmed his willingness to take charge of the team and commit to a long-term project by signing a contract.
Despite the promising start to negotiations, Chelsea’s management is still keeping other candidates on their shortlist for the vacant position. Internal discussions at the club are ongoing, and a final decision on the new manager has yet to be made.
It’s worth noting that Alonso only left Real Madrid earlier this year and has been unattached since then.
