Breaking: Orlando Pirates star Tshepang Moremi fails late fitness test and he will miss the game against Sekhukhune United
Betway Premiership defending champions Orlando Pirates have dealt a major injury blow ahead of his evening's PSL match against Sekhukhune United.
Pirates will be without influential midfielder Tshepang Moremi who failed a late fitness test ahead of the match at Orlando Amstel Arena.
Moremi's absence is also compounded by the unavailability of striker Andre de Jong as well as the assistant coach in Mandla Ncikazi.
“The Buccaneers will be without Tshepang Moremi, who did not pass a late fitness test ahead of the encounter. The Bafana Bafana winger continues to recover from the injury he sustained during Pirates’ 1-1 draw against AmaZulu,” reads a club statement.
“Meanwhile, Assistant Coach Mandla Ncikazi will also be absent from the bench tonight. Having undergone emergency knee surgery during pre-season, Coach Ncikazi has continued to experience discomfort following the procedure.
“The Club has granted him a short period away from his duties to return to KwaZulu-Natal, where he will receive further medical attention and focus on his recovery.”
The game starts at 7.30pm.
