Big midfield reinforcement! Manchester City targets Bournemouth's star
Manchester City is seriously looking to bolster its midfield and has set its sights on one of the Premier League’s most gifted young midfielders.
Details: Manchester City has expressed concrete interest in Bournemouth’s 22-year-old central midfielder Alex Scott and has already initiated preliminary talks with the club regarding a potential transfer. The Manchester board is studying the terms of a possible deal, aiming to strengthen the squad ahead of the new season.
The race for the player promises to be fierce: Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United have all shown interest in Scott, with the London club even submitting official offers that were turned down. The Englishman’s current contract with Bournemouth runs until June 30, 2028, and the Cherries are in no hurry to part ways with their key player ahead of their debut Europa League campaign.
It’s worth noting that Alex Scott has been playing for Bournemouth since August 2023 after his move from Bristol City. In the 2025/26 season, the English midfielder made 37 Premier League appearances for Bournemouth. According to Transfermarkt, the 22-year-old’s market value is €50 million.
