Betway Premiership side Orbit College coach Pogiso Makhoye praises the arrival of PSL veteran Bradley Ralani to aide their ailing maiden season
Surprise Ralani’s move to Orbit College has been lauded by Pogisho Makhoye.
The Orbit College coach revealed what made him call ralani out of retirement to aide their pursuit of preserving their PSL status.
The void left by talisman Monnapule Saleng, who joined Mamelodi Sundowns, was also a determining factor to bring the former Cape Town City and Sundowns man.
Ralani had already taken up a coaching role in his native Northern Cape province but Makhoye convinced him to join the Orbit project.
"With the type of football we’re playing, and since we lost Monnapule Saleng, I think we needed experience. We needed someone who could create magic, so I sat down with Ralani,” Makhoye said.
"I felt that Ralani did not leave football the right way. He still has football in him. He has a football brain. With the system we are playing, he can assist us.
"That’s why we signed him. We needed to sign players who come with experience that will help the team survive.
"Ralani has the last pass, and that’s one of the reasons we signed him. If we can play with Atisang Batsi at 43, why should Ralani retire at 38? That’s why we convinced him to come out of retirement and come help us here," explained Makhoye.
