Betway Premiership club Chippa United breaks silence over their Fifa transfer ban on ongoing monies owed to former coach Luc Eymael
Betway Premiership side Chippa United has broken their silence on the recent Fifa transfer ban imposed by the world football governing body last week.
The Eastern Cape-based side has outstanding monies to pay former coach Luc Eymael who was in charge of the club earlier this season.
As they sacked the Belgian gaffer, the team did not pay Eymael his outstanding monies and the coach then reported the PSL side to Fifa.
Fifa then imposed a transfer ban as a result. The club has since provided their stance on the matter.
“The club would like to clarify that this is an ongoing administrative matter, currently being addressed in good spirit between the club and Mr Luc Nico Eymael,” said the club in a statement.
“The outstanding amount is approximately R200,000, and the club has been granted until the next registration window period in August to settle the matter.”
This matter does not impact the club’s football operations,” the statement continued.
“At present, the club’s full focus remains on the remaining five games of the season, with attention directed towards achieving positive results.”
