The England national team is preparing for upcoming friendlies, but ahead of the matches two players have dropped out through injury and replacements have already been called up.

Details: As reported by Ben Jacobs, Ben White has received his first call-up to the national team since 2022. Harvey Barnes of Newcastle has also been included in the squad. They replace Eberechi Eze of Arsenal and Jarell Quansah of Bayer Leverkusen, both of whom have withdrawn due to injuries.

England will play two friendly matches, facing Uruguay on Friday, March 27, before taking on Japan on March 31.

Notably, during qualification, England became only the second European team to win every match in a World Cup qualifying campaign without conceding a single goal.

We also reported that since the start of Euro 2020 qualifying in 2019, Bayern Munich’s striker has scored 40 goals in qualifiers for major tournaments (the World Cup and the European Championship). Among European players, only Cristiano Ronaldo comes close with 32 goals.

Reminder: The English Football Association has put forward an initiative to reform the qualification system for both the World Cup and the European Championship.
