Before the Spanish Cup final between Mallorca and Athletic Bilbao, a mass brawl occurred among fans of the teams. The incident took place on the day of the game in the fan zone designated for Mallorca supporters.
Video footage from the scene shows radical representatives of fan groups engaging in a fight using makeshift weapons. Flares, cobblestones, stones, and chairs were reportedly involved.
No information has been provided about any arrests made in connection with the incident. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries resulting from the brawl. Currently, calm and order have been restored in the fan zone.
The Copa del Rey 2024 final will kick off today at 22:00 Central European Time.
It's interesting to note that Mallorca has won the Copa del Rey only once in its history, back in 2003. Athletic Bilbao, on the other hand, has won the Copa del Rey 24 times, with their last victory occurring 50 years ago in the 1983-84 season.
