Bayern sporting director commented on the potential acquisition of a defender from PSG
Bayern Munich's sporting director Christoph Freund commented on the information regarding the club's interest in Paris Saint-Germain and French national team defender Nordi Mukiele.
Earlier reports suggested that Bayern had already approached the Parisian club with a proposal to loan the player with an option to buy.
“Nordi is a type of player who can play right back and centre-back. He’s certainly an interesting one”, told Freund for BILD.
Mukiele is a product of the Laval youth academy. In 2017, the defender moved to Montpellier and, a year later, to RB Leipzig. He has been with PSG since 2022.
In the previous season, Nordi played 24 matches for Paris Saint-Germain, and in the current season, he has featured in ten. The contract of the 26-year-old defender with the Parisian club is valid until the summer of 2027.
In early January, Bayern Munich signed defender Eric Dier from Tottenham and the English national team.
