Bayern Munich, which had a disappointing previous season, continues to plan their squad for the next campaign.

Today, the Munich club officially announced the contract extension of right-back Josip Stanišić. The new agreement with the Croatian footballer is set to last until the summer of 2029.

Last season, Stanišić was on loan at Bayer Leverkusen, where he became a Bundesliga champion. Following his successful season, Bayern now sees him as a key first-team player.

During his time at Bayer Leverkusen, Stanišić played 38 matches across all competitions, scoring 4 goals and providing 6 assists. Previously, the 24-year-old had made 42 appearances for Bayern.

It is worth noting that Vincent Kompany surprisingly became the new head coach of Bayern Munich this summer.
