Bayer sets a massive price tag! Arsenal desperate to bring English defender home

The London giants have set their sights on one of the Bundesliga’s most sought-after defenders, but negotiations promise to become a serious test for the club’s budget.

Details: Bayer Leverkusen defender Jarell Quansah has become one of Arsenal’s priority transfer targets. According to German outlet fussball-news.de, the Gunners have already approached the pharmaceutical club’s management with an official €65 million offer, but were met with a categorical rejection.

The Leverkusen club are reportedly under no financial pressure and would be prepared to seriously discuss a potential deal only if an offer in the €70–75 million range arrives. Bayer’s stance is reinforced by the player’s long-term contract, which runs until the summer of 2030. Juventus of Turin and Inter Milan are also closely monitoring the situation, while Liverpool retain a €82 million buy-back clause.

It is worth noting that the 23-year-old Liverpool academy graduate moved to Germany in the summer of 2025 as a European Under-21 champion and immediately established himself in Leverkusen’s starting XI, successfully covering both centre-back and right-back. Quansah has also received call-ups to the England national team. According to authoritative portal Transfermarkt, the defender’s current market value stands at €45 million.
