Battle of the giants for an American wonderkid. PSG targets Borussia Dortmund’s teenage star
French giants Paris Saint-Germain are making persistent attempts to sign Borussia Dortmund’s 17-year-old American winger Matisse Albert.
Details: According to football insider Ekrem Konur, PSG’s scouting department has a serious interest in the talented winger and hopes to convince him to continue his career in the French capital. However, the Yellow Wall is categorically ruling out the loss of the promising player: Dortmund have already initiated official negotiations with the player’s representatives over an extension to his current contract.
The Black and Yellows have traditionally excelled at charting the development of young talents and are offering the player a clear pathway into the first team. The German club’s chiefs are hoping to shield the teenager from the advances of European rivals by offering attractive financial terms and clear sporting objectives aimed at securing his Bundesliga debut as soon as possible.
It is worth noting that the product of the American soccer system moved to Germany in the summer of 2024 from the LA Galaxy academy, where he earned a reputation as one of North America’s brightest talents. With the United States youth national teams and Dortmund’s youth setup, Albert has consistently stood out for his phenomenal acceleration, dribbling ability and polished finishing, attracting the attention of scouts from top clubs across the continent.
