Borussia Dortmund have joined the list of leading European clubs closely monitoring the development of 20-year-old Cruzeiro goalkeeper Otavio.

Details: According to football insider Ekrem Konur, the Black and Yellows' scouting department rates the young goalkeeper's potential highly and views him as a long-term investment for the number-one spot. Portuguese giants Porto and Italian side Napoli are ready to challenge the German powerhouse, with both clubs also actively gathering information on the talented South American.

Cruzeiro's hierarchy have already demonstrated their uncompromising stance, rejecting without hesitation an official €13 million offer from English side Nottingham Forest. The Brazilian club moved to protect their academy product well in advance, signing him to a contract running until the end of 2031 with a €100 million release clause for overseas buyers, while they are prepared to open negotiations at no less than €25–30 million.

It is worth noting that Otavio is regarded as one of the most promising goalkeepers of the new generation in South American football. Phenomenal reflexes on the goal line, impressive physical attributes and composed play with his feet have quickly established the goalkeeper as a rising star of the Brazilian top flight and attracted the attention of national-team scouts.
