Barcelona managed to halt Atlético Madrid's long-standing unbeaten streak on their home turf.

As reported by OptaJoe, Atlético's undefeated streak at home in La Liga lasted for 25 matches. The Madrid side had last suffered a defeat to Barcelona in January 2023. Following that, Diego Simeone's team secured 23 victories and drew twice.

It's worth noting that Barcelona defeated Atlético Madrid with a scoreline of 3-0. Goals were credited to João Félix, Robert Lewandowski, and Fermin Lopez.

Following this match, Barcelona rose to the second position, overtaking neighboring Girona. Meanwhile, Diego Simeone's proteges dropped out of the UEFA Champions League zone and settled in fifth place, trailing Athletic Bilbao by just one point.
