The presiding judge of the Court of Investigation No. 1 in Barcelona has extended the investigation into the case related to payments made to former vice president of the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA), José María Enrique Negreira, for at least another six months, awaiting a report from the Civil Guard.

It is noted that the judge has summoned Negreira to testify in court on Tuesday, March 19. According to previously reported information, the court believes that the payment of €7.7 million to Negreira by Barcelona from 2001 to 2018 constitutes a crime.

Consequently, if the allegations are confirmed, the club may be suspended from any football activities, which could lead to bankruptcy.
