Banyana Banyana striker Thembi Kgatlana reacts to the team's semi-final qualification

Thembi Kgatlana does not want to take glory for Banyana Banyana's quarter-final qualification at WAFCON.

Kgatlana and Banyana won 1-0 against Burkina Faso last night in Casablanca which saw them go through to the tournament's last eight round, where they face hosts Morocco.

The striker netted in the first half a goal which eventually decided the encounter.

“It was a really great team effort,” said Kgatlana to the media.

“I think in the history of South African football, this team always comes back to perform. And we knew how much it was important for us to first get this victory, and then we’ll see everything that comes from it.”

The Mexico-based forward said the goal was also a personal confidence booster for her.

"For me, it’s a boost personally,” added Kgatlana.

“I started slow with the tournament it’s the third game and I think I’m getting my momentum.

“And thanks to my teammates, I don’t think I would be here today if it wasn’t for them for their encouragement all the challenges and difficulties we face every day in training. And this belongs to them more than it belongs to me.”

Banyana will face Morocco on Saturday as the place in the semi-finals, should they beat the host nation, would see them qualify for next year's Women's World Cup.
