Bafana Bafana's Mbekezeli Mbokazi on his thunder striker for South Africa: It's through instinct I score those goals as opposed to practicing them
Mbekezeli Mbokazi’s fine strike against Panama for Bafana Bafana is as a result of his instinct and not lot of practice.
The thunderbolt he hit against Panama at Cape Town Stadium when Bafana lost 2-1 in a friendly international was a top drawer goal which many thought it’s a result of practice makes perfect.
But the Chicago Fire defender said it was not the case that he makes times to fine tune his shooting as this goal was not the first thunderous strike to come from his well-cultured left foot.
While in the Betway Premiership, he would score such goals as he netted one against Siwelele FC and also against SuperSport United in last season’s Nedbank Cup for his former club Orlando Pirates.
"No, I wouldn’t say I practice them often," Mbokazi told SABC Sport after Bafana’s match against Panama.
"It happens sometimes that I just strike them, even during training.
"So I won’t say I practice them a lot. When it happens, I love to take a hit at the goal."
His MLS side Chicago Fire will hope he strikes such balls for them in the USA as they take on Nashville SC this weekend.
