Edouard Mendy is ruled out of the match against Iraq on 26 June.
Senegal will be without their 34-year-old goalkeeper for their final group stage match at the World Cup currently being held in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Having sustained a knee injury during the match against Norway (3–2), Edouard Mendy will be unavailable, the Senegalese Football Federation has announced.
The 34-year-old goalkeeper is undergoing medical tests to assess the nature of his injury and determine whether he will be able to continue in the tournament. Senegal will play their final 2026 World Cup group stage match against Iraq on 26 June, following back-to-back defeats against France (3–1) and Norway (3–2) in Group I.
