The excitement at AFCON kicks off right from the opening days!

Details: Today, during the first round Group A clash between Mali and Zambia, the referee awarded a penalty to Mali in the 42nd minute, marking the second spot-kick of the tournament in just two days.

The first penalty was given in yesterday’s opening match between Morocco and the Comoros Islands.

However, both penalties—yesterday and today—were missed. In the opener, Moroccan striker Soufiane Rahimi failed to convert his chance in the 11th minute, and in the Mali vs Zambia encounter, El Bilal Touré couldn’t get the better of the Zambian keeper.

So far, penalty kicks haven't proven to be the most effective way to score at this AFCON.
