Atlético Madrid is working on strengthening their attack following the departure of Álvaro Morata. One of the options is Manchester City striker Julián Álvarez.
According to journalist César Luis Merlo, Los Colchoneros have made progress in negotiations with Manchester City. Atlético's management has held several meetings with the player's representatives, offering him a five-year contract. They are also looking to reach an agreement with City. Atlético's head coach, Diego Simeone, has requested this transfer.
Previously, Álvarez declined to extend his contract with Manchester City and requested the club to set a reasonable price for his sale.
PSG is also showing interest in the 2022 World Cup champion, looking to strengthen their attack following Kylian Mbappé's departure.
Last season, Álvarez appeared in 36 Premier League matches, scoring 11 goals and providing 9 assists. In the Copa America 2024, which ended in triumph for Argentina, the Man City forward played 5 matches and scored 2 goals.
