Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams injured in UEFA Europa League match

On Wednesday, December 11, a UEFA Europa League match between Fenerbahce and Athletic Bilbao featured an unfortunate incident for the Basque team.

Details: Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams sustained an injury midway through the first half. In the 38th minute, he left the pitch and was replaced by Alex Berenguer.

Recently, the talented winger informed Barcelona of his desire to join them next summer. Williams' contract with Athletic includes a €60 million release clause, which Barcelona is reportedly capable of meeting.

Earlier reports suggested that Barcelona had moved on from pursuing Williams but would reconsider if the player expressed a strong interest in joining the Blaugrana.

Reminder: José Mourinho recently commented that Real Madrid would be a better fit for Williams, stating that he personally prefers Nico over another young Spanish national team star, Lamine Yamal.
