Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has shed light on the situation surrounding the team’s main attacking force — Alexander Isak.
Details: The Swedish striker will be included in the squad for the match against Paris Saint-Germain, but the manager remains cautious, taking a realistic view of the player’s current form.
Slot emphasized that the striker’s lengthy absence has certainly taken its toll. According to the boss, it would be unwise to expect Isak to immediately hit the dominant heights he reached before his injury:
"Alex will be available for the PSG match. The only question is what you mean by 'ready.' If you’re expecting the player who was simply outstanding for us in the League Cup final a year ago — I have serious doubts about that after an eight-month layoff," Slot admitted frankly.
The situation is further complicated by the fact that the Swede has yet to complete a full training session with the main group. The manager plans to ease Isak back into action with a limited number of minutes, hoping to gradually restore his match rhythm without risking the striker’s health in such a high-intensity clash.
Reminder: Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah has been ruled out of the Egypt national team squad due to injury.
