Aston Villa has agreed to purchase a Chelsea defender. How much will the transfer cost?

Aston Villa has agreed to purchase Chelsea defender Ian Maatsen.

According to Fabrizio Romano, strengthening the defense ahead of the Champions League will cost the Villans £37.5 million.

The terms of the personal contract with the player have also been agreed upon. The deal is expected to run until 2030.

Chelsea has already given permission for the player to undergo a medical examination at the Netherlands national team camp, where Maatsen is currently participating in Euro 2024.

In the second half of the 2023/24 season, Maatsen played for Borussia Dortmund on loan. The defender became one of the key players for the "Bumblebees" and helped the team reach the Champions League final.

Earlier, it was reported that the Dutch player is interested in staying at Dortmund for next season.
