The Argentine's situation in Leverkusen is causing concern in Manchester.
Details: Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, following the defeat to Newcastle in the 12th round of the Premier League, responded to a journalist's question regarding the potential return of 19-year-old Argentine midfielder Claudio Echeverri, who is currently on loan at Bayer Leverkusen:
"That's a question for his wonderful agent.
We value him highly as a player, but whatever happened in Leverkusen, you'll have to ask them, I don't know. His agent knows more than anyone." Guardiola replied.
Claudio Echeverri was signed by the Citizens from River Plate in 2024 for €18.5 million. During his time in Manchester, Echeverri played just three matches and scored once. This past summer, Claudio was sent out on loan to Bayer, where he has made only eight appearances and registered a single assist so far—clearly not enough to satisfy Guardiola, who had hoped Echeverri would get more playing time, vital for his development.
