Arthur Zwane sees AmaZulu as potential Nedbank Cup champions as they face Polokwane City this evening in the last-32 encounter
Arthur Zwane has called on his AmaZulu side to use the Nedbank Cup as a trophy they can remind South African football of their potential.
Actually, Zwane said Usuthu are a sleeping giant which needs awakening and the Ke Yona Cup competition is a perfect platform for his team to revive it.
“I think as a team the only way to redeem ourselves is to go all the way but taking it one game at a time,” said Zwane on the club’s website.
“It’s important to manage ourselves well.”
Zwane said they should emulate the 1992 squad which won the then Coca Cola Cup in restoring the pride of Kwa-Zulu Natal.
“We really want to see ourselves in the final and hopefully we can do what was done by the generation of ’92, that was a quality team,” he added.
This evening they place Polokwane City in the last-32 of the Nedbank Cup away from home where they will be looking to get past their PSL opponents.
The match starts at 7pm at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
