Arthur Zwane believes AmaZulu latest signings tick all the boxes for the Betway Premiership side as they face TS Galaxy this Sunday in a PSL game
Arthur Zwane has lauded the two players AmaZulu signed in this transfer window.
Usuthu brought in Mason Mushore, Luyolo Slatsha and Gustavo Lopes as they resume their programme as one of the teams with outside chance of winning the Betway Premiership.
The Durban side have been flirting with the top four bracket on the PSL standings and it does not seem they would want to lose grip on teams atop of the table in order to remain in contention of a respectable finish.
“Good players, Mason brings calmness, his decision-making on the ball is second to none,” Zwane told media during the club’s press day on Wednesday.
“Obviously, he’s still lacking because the intensity is not the same. He also said that himself, the intensity in Zimbabwe and this side is totally different.
“He’s going to bring us that balance. He can play as a six, as a centre-back, if you want to play with three, you can use him. Very comfortable on the ball.”
Zwane disclosed that Slatsha is seen a perfect replacement for experienced midfielder Bongani Zungu.
“Slatsha is your modern number six, he doesn’t have a big body in terms of physique,” he added.
“But on the ball, in our structure, our double pivot, they are more of playmakers. We don’t just want fighters, we want playmakers, when we build up from the back, progressing the ball to the areas of creativity.
“When Bongani Zungu is not available, Slatsha brings that decision-making, that creativity and to say when we’re under pressure, don’t just kick the ball forward, but we pinpoint the right players.”
On Sunday Usuthu host TS Galaxy at Moses Mabhida Stadium for a 3.30pm kick-off PSL match.
