Arsenal leader Martin Odegaard suffered ankle ligament damage in early September, which forced the midfielder out of football for several months. For the Canaries themselves, the loss of their captain was quite serious.

But Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has recognised that the team must play in the absence of their captain as well, despite the fact that he had a significant impact on the game:

‘We have to adapt. Martin has obviously had a huge impact on our attack and we can't doubt that. If you look at all the stats, the way we plan games to try and make sure we get him in places where he can be very dangerous for the opposition is key. It's always about him.

‘We don't have him, so we have to adapt our way of playing and find other ways to be very effective. It's not going to be the same. It will be different, but hopefully very effective,’ Arteta said.

Earlier it became known that we should expect Odegaard to return to the squad in mid-November at the earliest.
