Arsenal is ready to let one of the team's key defenders go

Arsenal's defender and Japan international, Takehiro Tomiyasu, has emerged as a transfer target for the reigning Serie A champions, Napoli, ahead of the January transfer window. The Italian club aims to fortify their defense following Nathan's absence due to injury. Tomiyasu is among several options being considered by the "Azzurri," as reported by Il Matino. The source indicates that Arsenal is willing to let the 25-year-old leave on loan this winter.
Arsenal's decision to potentially allow Tomiyasu to depart came unexpectedly. The Japanese player has been a versatile asset in the team and showcased excellent form until his recent injury. It's reported that Napoli is exploring other targets as well: Tomiyasu's fellow teammate, Jakub Kiwior, Martin Vitik from Sparta Prague, Giorgio Scalvini from Atalanta, and Radu Dragusin from Genoa. All these players are of interest to Napoli as replacements for the injured Nathan.
Following their Serie A triumph last season, Napoli has accumulated only 28 points in the current Serie A campaign, positioning them eighth in the Italian league, trailing Inter, the league leaders, by a substantial seventeen points.
