The Arsenal defender has sustained a calf muscle injury
Arsenal's head coach, Mikel Arteta, disclosed information about the injury to defender Takehiro Tomiyasu, as reported by journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The club conducted an examination, and the news for the player and the team is not very positive. He has a calf muscle injury, and as a result, he will be sidelined for some time.
Tomiyasu is a product of the football academy of local club Avispa Fukuoka. He began his senior football career in 2015 with the club's first team, where he spent three seasons, participating in 45 league matches. Throughout his time with Avispa Fukuoka, he was a key player in the team's defense.
In early 2018, he moved to Belgian side Saint-Truiden, gradually becoming involved in the first-team games during the 2018/19 season. In the summer of 2019, he transferred to Italian club Bologna, becoming the second Japanese player in the club's history after Hidetoshi Nakata.
Over two seasons, he established himself as a consistent player in the starting lineup of the Italian team, featuring in 60 Serie A matches. On August 31, 2021, he made a move to London-based Arsenal for €20 million.
