Liverpool manager Arne Slot has emphasized how important Mohamed Salah is to the team, explaining why he doesn't rotate him in the offensive lineup. Slot stressed that Salah's dependability on the right wing is crucial for Liverpool's success as they prepare to face Girona in the sixth round of the UEFA Champions League group stage.

"We have healthy competition between Luis Díaz and Cody Gakpo, but for the past five or six weeks, we’ve had four players for three positions," Slot explained in the pre-match press conference. "Salah has always been our consistent right-wing option, and we are extremely pleased with Díaz's contributions as well."

Despite recent squad rotations, Slot reaffirmed that Salah's importance means he’s not a part of the rotation plan, especially ahead of such an important game. "If we had played against Everton, we might have used the same team. The cancellation of that match was the right decision," he added.

After winning all five games, Liverpool currently leads the Champions League group with 15 points, while Girona is in third position with just three points. Slot reaffirmed that avoiding a possible playoff run by finishing the group stage in a solid position is still the key goal.
