Another Patrick Kluivert son heading to England? Lyon defender wanted in the Premier League
Crystal Palace are in talks with Lyon over a potential move for Dutch defender Ruben Kluivert. According to L’Équipe, the English club have become interested in the 25-year-old and have already accelerated their efforts to complete the transfer.
Kluivert was left out of Lyon's squad for the match against Le Havre, as his future could be decided in the coming days. Crystal Palace's interest in the defender intensified after Ecuadorian Joel Ordóñez failed his medical in London. The Eagles subsequently turned their attention to the French club's player.
According to the source, Crystal Palace have not yet made an official offer, but could propose around €20 million. If the clubs reach an agreement in the coming days, Kluivert will travel to England to complete the move.
Ruben Kluivert is the son of legendary Netherlands striker Patrick Kluivert. His brother Justin Kluivert also plays in the Premier League, representing Bournemouth.
Lyon signed the defender from Casa Pia last summer for just €3.78 million, meaning a potential transfer would generate a significant profit for the French club. However, Lyon would have to pay the Portuguese side 15% of the profit from the player's sale.
