Barcelona's defensive problems continue to mount ahead of their next LaLiga fixture.

Details: French defender Jules Kounde is now highly unlikely to feature against Deportivo Alaves on Saturday, October 31. According to AS, the right-back is still not training with the group as he continues recovering from an ankle injury.

Kounde suffered a sprained left ankle during Barcelona's match against Real Betis and has yet to fully recover. On Wednesday, the defender reportedly experienced significant pain when attempting to put on his boots for training. He subsequently worked in the gym on Thursday.

The situation leaves Hansi Flick with a serious problem on the right side of his defence. Eric Garcia and Xavi Espart are also unavailable, meaning Joao Cancelo could be the main option for the position.

Meanwhile, Flick has called up Barcelona Atletic youngster Guillem Victor to first-team training as he considers possible alternatives. Kounde has already missed the matches against PSG and Real Madrid, and his absence could now extend to a third consecutive game.

It's worth noting that Barcelona currently lead LaLiga with 27 points from ten matches, while Deportivo Alaves sit seventh with 12 points. The Catalans will be looking to bounce back from their 2-1 defeat to Real Madrid in El Clasico.
