Bad news for Barcelona. Raphinha risks another injury
Barcelona could be facing another international break nightmare involving Raphinha.
Details: Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti is expected to include Raphinha in his squad for the November international break, despite Barcelona's concerns about the winger's fitness. Reports circulating on social media claim the player has already been called up, but the Brazilian Football Confederation has scheduled the official squad announcement for October 29 at 15:00 Brasília time, meaning his selection has yet to be confirmed.
According to SPORT, the Catalan club would prefer Raphinha to remain in Barcelona and continue regaining his best physical condition. Reports suggest the club could seek an agreement with Ancelotti to avoid another international call-up, although no formal request or refusal has been independently confirmed.
Brazil are scheduled to face Japan on November 14 and Singapore on November 17, with both friendlies taking place in Singapore. Should Raphinha be selected, he would have to travel approximately 10,900 kilometres from Barcelona, raising concerns about the physical demands of such a lengthy journey.
The concern is particularly understandable given the winger's recent injury troubles. On September 29, Raphinha suffered discomfort during Brazil's friendly against Australia. Subsequent medical examinations revealed minor swelling in his right thigh, prompting the national team to release him from the squad as a precaution.
It is worth noting that Barcelona's next LaLiga fixture is scheduled for October 31 against Deportivo Alaves, while Brazil's November friendlies will be their final two international matches of 2026.
