Barcelona have set their sights on another Premier League star.

Details: According to Catalunya Ràdio, Barcelona president Joan Laporta is a huge admirer of Tottenham right-back Pedro Porro and would love to bring the Spanish international to the Catalan club. The 27-year-old particularly impressed Laporta with his performances at the 2026 World Cup, where the Barcelona president watched him in person.

The Catalan giants reportedly made preliminary enquiries about Porro's situation towards the end of the summer transfer window. However, the contacts never developed into serious negotiations, as Tottenham had recently extended the defender's contract and a transfer was considered extremely difficult.

Barcelona sporting director Deco also reportedly rates the Spaniard highly. Nevertheless, a January move appears unlikely. The club's immediate priority is believed to be signing a central defender, while financial restrictions could force Barcelona to sell a player before making a major acquisition.

A potential move for Porro could therefore be considered again next summer, although no official offer or agreement between the clubs has been confirmed.

It is worth noting that Tottenham officially announced Porro's contract extension on June 14, 2026. His current deal runs until the summer of 2031.
