Angelo Van Rooi netted Golden Arrows’ solitary goal at King Zwelithini Stadium to see his side advance to the Nedbank Cup quarterfinals.

Van Rooi’s strike late in the second half for Arrows condemned Stellenbosch FC’s hopes of advancing to the next stage of this competition.

Stellies though felt hard done by as they had a legitimate penalty call after Arrows defender handled the ball inside the box but referee failed to give them the spot kick.

This moment was rather a turning point for the Cape Winelands club as they put less pressure on their opponents from this point onwards.

But Arrows kept probing and looking for the opening and it duly came when Van Rooi finished a cross from the left with aplomb to beat Sage Stephens in the Stellies goals.
