Real Madrid's head coach Carlo Ancelotti has become the leader of the Madrid club in the number of victories in the UEFA Champions League after the win over Union Berlin in the last 6th round of the group stage (3-2).

Ancelotti surpassed former Real Madrid coach Miguel Muñoz, having played fewer games as the head coach of the Madrid team – 56 compared to 71. The Italian specialist achieved his 42nd victory in the European competition. Muñoz coached Real from 1948 to 1958.

Real Madrid won all six games in Group C. The last time the Madrid club achieved this result was in the 2014/15 season. At that time, the team competed in a group with Basel, Ludogorets, and Liverpool.

Real Madrid secured the top spot in the group with 18 points. Italian Napoli advanced to the knockout stage from second place with 10 points.
