Yesterday, Barcelona stunned Real Madrid with a decisive victory at the Santiago Bernabéu, scoring four goals against Andriy Lunin and ending Los Blancos' unbeaten La Liga run.
However, fans quickly noticed a heated exchange between Real Madrid's Carlo Ancelotti and Barcelona’s Hansi Flick after the final whistle.
Details: The root of the discussion between the two coaches stemmed from the behavior of Barcelona’s substitutes and staff following the fourth goal. After Raphinha scored, several individuals from Barcelona’s technical area approached Ancelotti’s technical zone, celebrating openly in his vicinity and breaching the area’s boundaries.
This display did not sit well with Ancelotti, who confronted Flick regarding the lack of restraint shown by one of his assistants. After a brief exchange, Ancelotti proceeded into the tunnel.
It appears Flick was in agreement, as Ancelotti noted during the post-match press conference.
Quote: "There was no issue with Flick. But one of his assistants acted less than gentlemanly during the celebration. I told him this, and Flick agreed," Ancelotti told Football Espana.
Reminder: With this victory, Barcelona has widened the gap over Real Madrid to four points in the league standings. Despite the result, Ancelotti remained composed and recalled Barcelona's 4-0 win at the Bernabéu in March 2022 - a season that ultimately saw Los Blancos crowned champions of La Liga and the UEFA Champions League.
