Details: Today, on the official Aston Villa page on social network X, the English club announced that it has signed a new contract with its 31-year-old Scottish central midfielder, John McGinn.

It is reported that the new contract runs until 2028, with other details yet to be disclosed.

"McGinn has become an integral part of Villa's squad since joining from Hibernian in 2019 and has played a crucial role in the club's journey from the Championship to the Champions League," the club statement reads.

John McGinn joined from Hibernian in 2019 for €3.1 million. He has made 299 appearances for Aston Villa, scoring 33 goals and providing 41 assists.

According to Transfermarkt, McGinn's market value is estimated at €16 million.
